To Whom this May Concern:
My name isxxx, and I am the English teacher of Class 2, Senior 3, xxx Secondary School. I know xxx very well given that I have been teaching her English since Senior 1.
She has always been the top student in my class; and, as my assistant, she has always been of great help to me. Her outstanding presentation on the esteemed director Tim Burton impressed me deeply, for her English speaking ability is superior to her fellow students, as well as her knowledge of western culture.
Different from many students suffering from English learning, xxx takes great delight in English. She is versatile and able to integrate her various hobbies into English learning. For example, she won many prizes in the National Teenagers’ Painting Competition, and she is a popular cartoon expert. With her power of influence, she illustrated cartoons for English books and donated her publishing funds to public charity.
xxx likes reading very much and reads a great deal of English and Chinese books in her spare time. She shows her special affinity for history and reads world history and American history books in English. In addition, she is an enthusiastic and warm-hearted girl who always participates or arranges charity activities passionately. For example, in order to throw a great party with the children in SOS Children’s Institution, she and several classmates devoted themselves to designing interactive games, as well as selecting music and songs, which brought fun and wonderful moments to the children. What’s more, she still keeps contact with the kids there and they just love her for her enthusiasm and kindness. She once told me that it is a great pleasure to help those who are in need.
When xxx informed me that she is preparing for furthering her education in the US, I thought it would indeed be great for her. Due to my knowledge of the US educational system, I am confident that she will be even better since the education there gives her far more options to accomplish what she is interested in. Therefore, I recommend her to further her studies in the US, and I sincerely hope that you will admit her forthwith.

Dear Professors,
As Zhangjing’s lecturer of managerial economics for the first term of the Minor Program, I was deeply impressed with her outstanding performance .I believe the professionalism, top-tier teaching resources, and worldwide reputation of your university will provide an ideal platform for Zhang to study. Therefore, I hope you can give her an opportunity to make the most use of her potential.
I was deeply impressed with Zhang’s academic strength and outstanding learning ability demonstrated in my class. I still remember that she corrected my mistake, when other students did not even realize I was wrong. Then she came to me and explained the mistake to me. And it turned out that I was picturing the diagram by mistake. Then she also explained her solution to me which turned out a more lucid one. When I explained her solution to other students, they also can understand it. I then understood that her knowledge in her major played a significant role in studying Economics. Also Zhang’s logical thinking left a deep impression on me. When she interpreted her train of thought to me, I can understand her without any difficultly.
After class I also had some communication with Zhang and did enjoy the conversation with her. Once she asked me something concerning stock. I told her what I had known and discussed some question with her. She even connected the stock with the whole economic circumstance in China and did some comparison about the general economic environment between the west countries and China. I can feel her aspiration about learning Economics. She is really good at communicating and I felt comfortable and easy to talk to her. She can always put herself in other’s shoes and you will be understood during the communication very well. Ifirmly believe that, with these great abilities and an outgoing characteristic, she can fulfill her expectation in the way she chose.
According to what I know about Zhang, I believe she definitely has the ability to accomplish the program in your school. Therefore, it is my honor to recommend Zhang Jing for admission to your graduate program. If any further information is required, please feel free to contact me.
Sincerely,
Ma Mingxiao, Associate Professor

To whom it may concern:
In the capacity of professor at the Department of Economics who has instructed Ms. Janet Jackson in the course of International Economics during the academic year of1991to1992, I am pleased to have this opportunity to introduce her to your prestigious MBA establishment. Janet was a stand-out student in my class. She received a very high score in my course and was ranked in the top ten percent of the class. In addition to being a professor, I am also a faculty advisor of the Department of Economics Student Council. It was in this capacity that I grew to know Janet even better. Although only teaching Janet for one course, I feel that I know her personality, personal attributes and attitudes through my contact with her outside of the classroom.
Unlike most of her peers, Janet has demonstrated a great deal of independent thinking as a student at ABC University. For the courses in which she had a particular interest, she was fully devoted to excelling in those courses. I would go so far as to say that she was a perfectionist in this regard. Her only weakness is that in courses that she felt were less suited to her interests, she did not study has hard as she would perhaps have been able to do. I noticed that her performance was less than satisfactory in both statistics and calculus. This surprised me because Janet has strong quantitative skills as demonstrated in my international economics course. Her performance in this class was exceptional.
Janet perhaps stands out most with regard to her extracurricular activities. She was a varsity table tennis team player all four years she was a student at ABC. She represented the university in a national collegiate table tennis tournament each year. In1990, she received a silver medal in the women“s singles tournament, and in1991, she received fourth place in a women”s doubles tournament. Janet was also a member of the university“s debate team. As a freshman, she received the award for best debater in the intramural freshman debate cup. As I recall, she was also an editor of her department”s journal.
Janet has strong analytical, research and writing skills. I am very happy to see that Janet has had such a successful career development since her graduation from ABC. I believe that Janet will succeed in whatever endeavors she applies herself to and heartily recommend her to your university.
Yours truly,
Jerry Smith

Dear Dean Koogan:
This letter is intended to serve as a college recommendation for Ezra Edlarruti. I have been acquainted with Ezra for four years but came to know him well last year, as he was in the one class that I taught, a thirteen-student junior English class.
Students and faculty often remark that Ezra is blessed with considerable talent. What many of them overlook is how hard Ezra works to cultivate his talent, whether it be the development of his heautiihl voice f.r an operatic performance or of his writing skills as he works through an essay.
In over twenty-five years of teaching, I ha known other students with talent equivalent to Ezra's. Many of them lacked his good nature and humility, and few demonstrated the genuine intellectual curiosity that Ezra has exhibited over and over.
When I decided to set up a debate on Henry David Thoreau's “Civil Disobedience,” it was Ezra who was most helpful in creating a resolution that would lead to that appreciation. Ezra, to no one's surprise, then agreed to argue on any side of the debate.
Ezra is a motivated young man of numerous talents and considerable self-discipline. He is fun-loving, likable, enthusiastic, trusting and trustworthy.

To Whom It May Concern: I have had the distinct pleasure of having Kaya Stone as a student in my debate classes and on my debate team for three years at Eastern Little Hope High School. Kaya has been more than the ideal student. In order to achieve the highest grades and my deepest respect, she has demonstrated outstanding leadership and maintained a clear sense of purpose.
The academics at Eastern Little Hope are most challenging, and Kaya fulfilled all the requirements with the added challenge of honors and advanced courses. Kaya is an outstanding extemporaneous speaker and debater. She has won many awards on the speech and debate circuits, and qualified for national tournaments. Success in these interscholastic activities requires extensive research and persuasive skills. Kaya also holds the degree of Special Distinction, as a member of the National Forensic League. Due to its nature of metro, state, and national interscholastic competition, the successful high school forensics student serves by not only representing his or her school but also by representing his or her community as well.
One of the requirements in my advanced class is to prepare lectures and guidance for the beginners. With Kaya’ s superior knowledge and involvement in the political sciences, she developed a strong sense of confidence with a charming attitude. Therefore, I could always depend on her to set the best example as an instructor. Because of her natural leadership abilities, Kaya was selected as our Debate Captain.
On account of her mature approach to her responsibilities, I often thought of Kaya as a colleague. Since her classmates, my fellow teachers, and I will always hold her in the highest esteem, I sincerely recommend Kaya Stone as the ideal candidate for matriculation at Eastern Little Hope State. Respectfully submitted, Dan Peel, Ph.D.

As the Director of the Bay Area Community Center, I work closely with many of the community volunteers. I consider Michael Thomas to be one of the most studious and responsible members of our organization. After three years time, I have come to know him well and would like to recommend him as a candidate for your undergraduate program.
Michael is a dedicated member of the Bay Area community and has donated countless hours of his time to the Center. He has not only worked with members of the community, he has also helped to implement plans and programs that will enrich the lives of those around him. Michael’s leadership and organizational skills have been invaluable to these programs, most of which have been started from the ground up. For example, the children of the Bay Area are now able to benefit from a multitude of new after-school and tutoring programs, while the elderly members of our community can now apply for grocery deliveries that did not exist previously. In my opinion, Michael’s unwavering devotion to his community exemplifies strong moral fiber and character. He is a trustworthy individual and would be an excellent candidate for your school. Sincerely, John Flester Director, Bay Area Community Center
Sample 3:
To Whom It May Concern: Cheri Jackson is an extraordinary young woman. As her AP English Professor, I have seen many examples of her talent and have long been impressed by her diligence and work ethic. I understand that Cheri is applying to the undergraduate program at your school. I would like to recommend her for admission. Cheri has outstanding organizational skills. She is able to successfully complete multiple tasks with favorable results despite deadline pressure. As part of a semester project, she developed an innovative collaborative novel with her classmates. This book is now being considered for publication. Cheri not only headed the project, she ensured its success by demonstrating leadership abilities that her classmates both admired and respected. I must also make note of Cheri’s exceptional academic performance. Out of a class of 150 students, Cheri graduated with honors in the top 10. Her above-average performance is a direct result of her hard work and strong focus. If your undergraduate program is seeking superior candidates with a record of achievement, Cheri is an excellent choice. She has consistently demonstrated an ability to rise to any challenge that she must face.
To conclude, I would like to restate my strong recommendation for Cheri Jackson. If you have any further questions regarding Cheri’s ability or this recommendation, please do not hesitate to contact me using the information on this letterhead. Sincerely, Professor William Dot

推荐信英文范文
Dear Sir or Madam,
It is my pleasure to recommend Miss xxx, one of my favorite students, for her application to graduate study in your school.
Miss xxx is a capable and sincere young lady. We have known each other for one and a half year. I first got to know x when she attended my art psychology class.
Unlike her the others who just listened to my class absent-minded or pretending to be listening to, to whom having class meant to pass the exam. However, x often listened to me attentively and raised thought-provoking questions.
Once, while others were listening to me quietly, x suddenly raised her hand. Realizing her behavior, I nodded and she stood up expressed her ideas on one concept that I delivered. Besides, her way of expression was quite frank that made me feel that she was just like a bamboo in boscage.
Later, I taught her xxx, which mainly involves in research and practice on its principal. In order to get the first-hand information on acoustic principles of the theater design, we went to the professional theaters, like Professional Theatre the xx xxTheater, xx Theater and xx Park Concert Hall in person.
During this process, x took the job seriously and put the textbook into our investigation skillfully. If problems arose, she would discuss with me. She was aware for the relation between theater space and performance form. Moreover, according to her accumulation for all kinds of music performance, she summarized their relations.
Later, our school intended to build an amphitheatre, according to her survey on Reverberation time, Reflections Sound, direct sound , acoustic board, I proposal that the amphitheatre was suitable for performing mini-chamber music instead of vocal solo and solo.
After a careful analysis and study, the teachers were all agree with x and adopted her ideas. Now the established amphitheatre has become the mini-chamber music hall. All this can testify to x’s solid academic background and her frank character facing the challenges bravely and stick to her ideas.
In general, I believe this young lady will achieve greater success in her future work. Therefore, I strongly support her application, and it would be greatly appreciated if you could give her your favorable consideration.
Please feel free to contact me if I can answer any additional questions about Miss x.
